A 17-year-old cattle rearer, Umaru Saleh of OkeOde Kwara State, was on Monday remanded in prison by a Magistrate’s Court in Ilorin, for allegedly killing one Iliasu Abubakar.

It was gathered that the case was transferred from Divisional Police Station, Oke-Ode, to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Ilorin.

Daily Trust further gathered that during the fight, Iliasu Abubakar slumped and was rushed to a hospital where he gave up the ghost.

The prosecution said, “investigation conducted at the Department revealed that the accused confessed to have used stick and cutlass on the deceased”.

The accused was arraigned over culpable homicide, an offence that is contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code. Magistrate Osuolale Ajayi ordered that he should be remanded at the Federal Prison Yard, Oke- Kura and adjourned the case to October 26.
