NDLEA nabs Kenya Air­ways worker with cannabis

Of­fi­cials of the Na­tional Drug Law En­force­ment Agency (NDLEA) have ar­rested a clear­ing agent who works with Kenyan Air­ways as a pro­filer at the Mur­tala Mo­hammed In­ter­na­tional Air­port (MMIA) in La­gos, for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of 3.1kg of hard drug which tested pos­i­tive to In­dian hemp.

Enanch Su­maila was ar­rested while at­tempt­ing to travel to Dubai, United Arab Emi­rates.

NDLEA spokesman, Mitchel Ofoyeju, who con­firmed the ar­rest, said nar­cotic agents at the air­port de­tected dried weeds packed as gift items in the sus­pect’s consignment of food­stuff meant for ex­port.

Ac­cord­ing to Ofoyeju, the NDLEA Air­port Com­man­der, Ah­madu Garba, said the dis­cov­ery was made when the sus­pect brought the consignment for pre-ship­ment ex­am­i­na­tion. He said the sus­pect would be ar­raigned in court soon.
