NDLEA nabs Kenya Airways worker with cannabis
Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a clearing agent who works with Kenyan Airways as a profiler at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, for being in possession of 3.1kg of hard drug which tested positive to Indian hemp.
Enanch Sumaila was arrested while attempting to travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
NDLEA spokesman, Mitchel Ofoyeju, who confirmed the arrest, said narcotic agents at the airport detected dried weeds packed as gift items in the suspect’s consignment of foodstuff meant for export.
According to Ofoyeju, the NDLEA Airport Commander, Ahmadu Garba, said the discovery was made when the suspect brought the consignment for pre-shipment examination. He said the suspect would be arraigned in court soon.
