Yobe Assembly confirms 14 commissioner nominees
The Yobe State House of Assembly has confirmed 14 nominees as commissioners and received one other nominee from Governor Ibrahim Gaidam.
Those confirmed yesterday include; Alhaji Dawa Maigari, Alhaji Mohammed Ismaila Nguru from Nguru, Alhaji Malam Musti from Tarmowa, Alhaji Tijjani Zannah Zakaria from Yusufari , Hajia Hajara Lawan from Jakusko, Senator Adamu Talba from Nengere, Engr Jibril Umaru Kortoni from Machina.
Others confirmed on Tuesday are Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana from Fune, Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa from Gulani, Engr Suraj Wakil from Bade, Mohammed Lamin from Damaturu,Engr Mustapha Gajerima from Bursari and Dr. Muhammad Bello Kawuwa.
The last nominee, Barrister Ahmed Mustapha Goneri, was received from the governor through the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali.
The Speaker, Alhaji Adamu Dala Dogo charged the new commissioners to live up to the task and justify the confidence reposed in them.
“You all have held several political and bureaucratic positions therefore this task will not be a burden but a challenge to move Yobe State to greater heights”, he said.
He also stressed the need for cooperation between the legislature and executive arms of government to promote good governance.
