Lalong will face credible opposition - Rep

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Hir Joseph, Jos

Rep. Timothy Golu, representing Pankshin/ Kanke/Kanam in the House of Representatives, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State will provide credible opposition against Governor Simon Lalong.

“The PDP will not build propaganda like the All Progressives Congress (APC) did when we governed Plateau. We will not just rise up with opposition against the current government on the Plateau because we are not in power today. We are a responsible opposition party that will take stock on the government first, before speaking out,” Rep. Golu said.

The lawmaker said the PDP opposition would be geared toward strengthening the system and bringing about good governance for the people, saying “it is not going to be propaganda just to blow hot air about party politics.”

Rep. Golu, a journalist, who first served as state lawmaker before going to the National Assembly, said there was no direction in the first 100 days of Governor Lalong.

He, however, said that the party would make comments at the appropriate time, noting that it is too early to give a thorough assessment.

“By his first 100 days, the APC administration has no economic blueprint; no policy direction on which we can assess it,” Golu said.
