Sacked Yobe Rep to appeal tribunal ruling

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - By Saawua Terzungwe

A member of the House of Representatives, Mr Sabo Garba, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Potiskum/ Nangere federal constituency of Yobe State, whose election was nullified, has vowed to appeal the ruling.

The election petitions tribunal had sacked the lawmaker over alleged use of irregular education certificate to run for election.

Mr Garba, who urged his supporters to remain calm, said the issue would be rectified because he had confidence in the incorruptible nature of the judiciary.

He expressed belief that with concrete evidence and superior argument, the appeal court will rule in his favour.
