Com­mis­sion, firm to fight sale of fake drugs to no­mads

The Na­tional Com­mis­sion for No­madic Ed­u­ca­tion (NCNE) in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Turner Wright Lim­ited, have agreed to fight against sale of fake and adul­ter­ated vet­eri­nary drugs to no­mads in the coun­try.

This is con­tained in a press state­ment signed by the Chief In­for­ma­tion Of­fi­cer of the Com­mis­sion, Fidelis Ugochukwu Idoko and made avail­able to Daily Trust in Abuja yes­ter­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the state­ment, Ex­ec­u­tive Sec­re­tary, Prof Rashid Aderi­noye of the com­mis­sion said that through its FRCN, Kaduna ra­dio pro­gramme “Don Makiyaya a Ruga” and face-to-face cam­paigns, NCNE has been able to sen­si­tize the no­mads on the use of drugs and how to source gen­uine drugs.

He ex­pressed the de­ter­mi­na­tion of the Com­mis­sion to in­tro­duce any com­pany to their tar­get groups that would serve them with gen­uine drugs.

Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Turner Wright Lim­ited, Dr Tunde Lawal, reaf­firmed the com­mit­ment of his com­pany to en­sure that gen­uine drugs were made avail­able to the no­mads.

He ex­pressed de­ter­mi­na­tion to work with the Com­mis­sion so as to save the no­mads from the menace of fake drug ven­dors.
