Gombe Speaker urges respect for tribunal judgments
Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Nasiru Nono, has called on the entire people of the state to respect the judgment which upheld the victory of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the April 11, 2015 polls.
Nono spoke to reporters in Gombe, while reacting to the judgment of the Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal.
He said the final judgment indicated the credibility of the judiciary in Nigeria, and that it also showed that the votes of the masses truly count.
He therefore advised the people to respect the rule of law, while congratulating Dankwambo for his victory.
In his reaction, an APC stalwart, Alhaji Umaru Baba Goro, said the judgment was an act of God and advised people to accept it.
