Daily Trust - - NEWS - By Isiaka Wakili

The Presidency will next week host a two-day engagement forum with local and international stakeholders in furtherance of President Muhammadu Buhari’s determination to bring relief, restoration and rehabilitation back to Internally Displaced Persons in the North-east.

Senior Special Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande said in a statement yesterday that the forum would hold in Maiduguri, Borno State, on October 27.

He said the forum, with the theme “Coordination, Communication and Cooperation”, is being convened by the Presidency and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Akande said the forum would ensure an efficient coordination and create synergy of purpose in the humanitarian intervention efforts for the North-east between the Federal Government and nongovernmental organisations.

According to him, the forum is expected to establish a framework for coordination by bringing key stakeholders together to produce a blueprint for best practices and ensure an articulated response to emergencies and humanitarian challenges like the present situation in the three most affected states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
