Adamawa to spend N9.6bn on salary arrears
The Adamawa State government has earmarked N9.6billion of its bailout fund from the federal government for payment of workers’ salary arrears.
Addressing newsmen in Yola yesterday, the state Commissioner for Finance and Budget, Mahmud Yunusa, said the government had concluded arrangements for the disbursement of pension, leave grant and transport grantsý 2013, 2014 and 2015.
He noted the commitment of the present administration to workers’ welfare in order to increase productivity.
Yunusa added that permanent secretaries
for would be paid their entitlements including furniture allowance.
In his remarks, Governor Muhammadu Bumaru Jibrilla, who was at the press conference, promised to lead a transparent and peoplecentred government.
