LMC post­pones Sun­shine, Rangers fix­ture

@shagcy The League Man­age­ment Com­pany yes­ter­day an­nounced the shift of the Match Day 34 fix­ture of the Glo Pre­mier League match be­tween Sun­shine Stars and Rangers In­ter­na­tional FC of Enugu.

In a let­ter to both clubs and signed by Sal­ihu Abubakar, the Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer of the LMC said it had granted the re­quest of Sun­shine Stars FC of Akure which cited the in­volve­ment of six of their play­ers in the Su­per Ea­gles team sched­uled to play against Burk­ina Faso in a re­turn leg of the African Na­tions Cham­pi­onship (CHAN) qual­i­fiers this week­end.

The LMC noted that it ap­proved the re­quest in line with Ar­ti­cle B15.14 of the Frame­work and Rules of the Nige­ria Pro­fes­sional Foot­ball League (NPFL) which pro­vides that a club with five play­ers or more in the na­tional team camp can ap­ply for a post­pone­ment of its fix­ture.

The LMC said all other fix­tures of Match Day 34 will hold as sched­uled on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 21 while a date for the Sun­shine Stars ver­sus Rangers In­ter­na­tional en­gage­ment will be an­nounced on or be­fore Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 22.
