SPORT Bello backs Eaglets to win U-17 World Cup
Kano Pillars defender and 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner Zaharadeen Bello has thrown his weight behind Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to repeat the feat achieved by his team two years ago after their morale boosting 2-0 win over United States of America in their first match.
Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, the Kano born player also added that his confidence in the Emmanuel Amuneke led team stems from the fact that the talents therein are unquestionable and also because most of the technical crew personnel were part of the 2013 success at the United Arab Emirates.
“The result is a good win and like I said before the tournament started, I believe they can go all the way because they have the talents and also because most of the technical crew people were there with us at the 2013 event including the coach himself” Bello said.
Meanwhile, Eaglets are already in the iconic city of Vina del Mar ahead of today’s second Group A match against the host country, Chile at the Estadio Sausalito.
The 4 time champions currently top the standings with three points while Chile and Croatia which shared the spoils in their encounter behind with a point each.
