Ex-min­is­ter Moro quizzed over failed im­mi­gra­tion re­cruit­ment

The Eco­nomic and Financial Crimes Com­mis­sion (EFCC) yes­ter­day in­ter­ro­gated former Min­is­ter of In­te­rior, Abba Moro over al­le­ga­tions of financial crimes in the ill-fated Nige­ria Im­mi­gra­tion Ser­vice (NIS) re­cruit­ment ex­er­cise in March, 2014.

The ex-min­is­ter was grilled by op­er­a­tives of the com­mis­sion over the al­leged scam of over N500 mil­lion re­ceived from about 500, 000 ap­pli­cants dur­ing the re­cruit­ment ex­er­cise, Daily Trust gath­ered.

When con­tacted yes­ter­day the spokesman of the EFCC, Wil­son Uwu­jaren con­firmed that the former min­is­ter was at the Abuja head of­fice of the com­mis­sion to an­swer some ques­tions.

Re­cently the EFCC also grilled the former Comp­trol­ler Gen­eral of the NIS, David Par­radang on his in­volve­ment in the re­cruit­ment ex­er­cise in what was said to be an on­go­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
