Biafra: Protesters ground Rivers

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Victor Edozie, Port Harcourt

Hundreds of protesters sympathetic to the Biafran cause yesterday paralysed commercial activities in Port Harcourt.

The flag waving and placard carrying protesters were protesting the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the proprietor of Radio Baifra, who was arrested and detained in Lagos.

The protesters comprising young men and women had early in the morning barricaded the busy Aba/ Port Harcourt road for hours thereby making vehicular movement difficult.

Motorists that ply the Aba/Port Harcourt had to take an alternative route to escape the watertight traffic grid luck. It took the intervention of the combined team of police and army to dispatch the protesters who were heading to Rivers State Government House to submit their protest letter to the State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
