Sokoto set to digi­tise me­dia sta­tions

Sokoto State broad­cast sta­tions are to be fully digi­tised be­fore the De­cem­ber dead­line set by the Na­tional Broadcasting Com­mis­sion (NBC).

New Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Sokoto State Me­dia Cor­po­ra­tion, Al­haji Abu Shekara who dis­closed this yes­ter­day said all the nec­es­sary steps have been taken by the state gov­ern­ment to achieve the dig­i­tal­i­sa­tion.

He urged me­dia prac­ti­tion­ers to al­ways en­sure ob­jec­tiv­ity and pro­fes­sion­al­ism while as­sur­ing of qual­ity sig­nals and pro­grammes contents.

Also speak­ing, new Gen­eral Man­ager Rima Tele­vi­sion , Al­haji Labaran Dun­daye, promised to im­prove on the op­er­a­tions of the sta­tion.

“We will en­sure boost in rev­enue gen­er­a­tion, train­ing and re­train­ing and the gen­eral wel­fare of the staff,” he stated.

Labaran who was a staff of NTA and Chair­man Nige­rian Union of Jour­nal­ists, NUJ Sokoto State, stressed his de­ter­mi­na­tion to turn around the for­tunes of the sta­tions.
