Court dis­misses com­mu­nity lead­ers’ suit on coy MD’s mur­der

A Lagos High Court in Ig­bosere yes­ter­day dis­missed an ap­pli­ca­tion filed by lead­ers of Okun­raye vil­lage in Ibeju-Lekki seek­ing to stop the po­lice and oth­ers from fur­ther ar­rest and de­ten­tion of the vil­lagers over the mur­der of Mr. Ta­judeen Disu, the Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of Lekki World­wide In­vest­ment Com­pany.

The po­lice ar­rested 17 peo­ple in con­nec­tion with the killing of Disu on Oc­to­ber 12.

They sub­se­quently ar­raigned the ar­rested per­sons be­fore an EbuteMetta Mag­is­trates’ Court which re­manded them in pri­son cus­tody.

In the com­mu­nity lead­ers’ suit brought be­fore Jus­tice Raliat Ade­biyi, the army, DSS, Po­lice Spe­cial Anti-Rob­bery Squad, Dan­gote Group and Ibeju-Lekki LGA were joined as co-re­spon­dents.

But Jus­tice Ade­biyi dis­missed the prayers of the ap­pli­cant ex­cept the one seek­ing to serve all re­spon­dents in the suit and ad­journed the case till Novem­ber 10 for hear­ing of all ap­pli­ca­tions.
