Court dismisses community leaders’ suit on coy MD’s murder
A Lagos High Court in Igbosere yesterday dismissed an application filed by leaders of Okunraye village in Ibeju-Lekki seeking to stop the police and others from further arrest and detention of the villagers over the murder of Mr. Tajudeen Disu, the Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investment Company.
The police arrested 17 people in connection with the killing of Disu on October 12.
They subsequently arraigned the arrested persons before an EbuteMetta Magistrates’ Court which remanded them in prison custody.
In the community leaders’ suit brought before Justice Raliat Adebiyi, the army, DSS, Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Dangote Group and Ibeju-Lekki LGA were joined as co-respondents.
But Justice Adebiyi dismissed the prayers of the applicant except the one seeking to serve all respondents in the suit and adjourned the case till November 10 for hearing of all applications.
