NEXTLEVEL>> Eleganza owner, others bag Crescent University honourary PhDs
Owner and founder of Eleganza Group of Companies, Alhaji Rasak Okoya, alongside two other prominent personalities have bagged the honourary doctorate degrees from Crescent University, Ogun State.
At the seventh convocation ceremony of the University, Okoya was conferred with a doctor of science (D.Sc) Business Administration (Honoris Causa).
A previous holder of two other honourary doctorate degrees from Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
The University management said it deemed Okoya qualified for the degree for his social responsibility roles and his success in making his company, Eleganza group of companies a household name in business arena in Nigeria and beyond.
Recognised alongside Okoya was Prof. Dawud Noibi, an erudite Islamic scholar and Executive Secretary, Muslims in South West Nigeria (MUSWEN).
Noibi who was born on January 9, 1934 had taught in various
universities and Islamic institutions within and outside Nigeria. As an author, the awardee was also reputed to have written many books on Islamic jurisprudence and text books.
Described as an erudite Professor, accomplished scholar and prolific writer, Noibi was conferred with the varsity’s doctor of science (honoris causa) in Political Science and International Relations.
Also conferred with Doctor of Science (honoris causa) on Political Science and International Relations was Otunba Fatai Olajide Olukoga who retired as Permanent Secretary in Lagos State Civil Service in May 2007.
