Owner and founder of Ele­ganza Group of Com­pa­nies, Al­haji Rasak Okoya, along­side two other prom­i­nent per­son­al­i­ties have bagged the hon­ourary doc­tor­ate de­grees from Cres­cent Univer­sity, Ogun State.

At the sev­enth con­vo­ca­tion cer­e­mony of the Univer­sity, Okoya was con­ferred with a doc­tor of sci­ence (D.Sc) Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion (Honoris Causa).

A pre­vi­ous holder of two other hon­ourary doc­tor­ate de­grees from Ek­iti State Univer­sity, Ado Ek­iti and Ladoke Ak­in­tola Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy.

The Univer­sity man­age­ment said it deemed Okoya qual­i­fied for the de­gree for his so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity roles and his suc­cess in mak­ing his com­pany, Ele­ganza group of com­pa­nies a house­hold name in busi­ness arena in Nige­ria and be­yond.

Recog­nised along­side Okoya was Prof. Dawud Noibi, an eru­dite Is­lamic scholar and Ex­ec­u­tive Sec­re­tary, Mus­lims in South West Nige­ria (MUSWEN).

Noibi who was born on Jan­uary 9, 1934 had taught in var­i­ous

uni­ver­si­ties and Is­lamic in­sti­tu­tions within and out­side Nige­ria. As an author, the awardee was also re­puted to have writ­ten many books on Is­lamic ju­rispru­dence and text books.

De­scribed as an eru­dite Pro­fes­sor, ac­com­plished scholar and pro­lific writer, Noibi was con­ferred with the var­sity’s doc­tor of sci­ence (honoris causa) in Po­lit­i­cal Sci­ence and In­ter­na­tional Re­la­tions.

Also con­ferred with Doc­tor of Sci­ence (honoris causa) on Po­lit­i­cal Sci­ence and In­ter­na­tional Re­la­tions was Otunba Fatai Ola­jide Olukoga who re­tired as Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary in Lagos State Civil Ser­vice in May 2007.
