INEC REC elected YEDA President
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Independent National Electoral Commissions (INEC) Katsina State, and former Secretary to Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Warra has been elected President of Yauri Emirate Development Association (YEDA).
Other elected are Ambassador Muhammad Mallam Arzika Tungar Noma as Vice President, Alhaji Haliru Umar Yauri as Secretary General.
Others are Alhaji Salisu Abubakar Takware-Treasurer, Alhaji Haliru Sidi Haliru(Iyan Yauri)-Zonal Co-ordinator, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu(Marafan Yauri)-Auditor , Alhaji Adamu Birnin Yauri-Financial Secretary,Alhaji Musa Umar-Asst. Secretary, Alhaji Musa Ibrahim Ngaski-Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Garba Aliyu-Asst. Organizing Secretary,Alh Abdullahi YusufPublic Relations Officer(PRO) and Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Kimo-Asst. PRO.
The Emir ofYauri Dr Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, during the inauguration warned them to avoid using politics in running the affairs of the association, but should try to unite the people of the area to come together to move the emirate to a greater height.
The emir also thanked the dissolved caretaker committee which was headed by Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Yelwa (Ajiyan Yauri) for their achievement during their tenure from 2008 to 2015.
In his acceptance speech, the new president on behalf of other elected executives assured that the new exco would always work towards the promotion of peace and unity of the people.
He also thanked the people of the area for electing them to head the association.
The election was conducted by a threeman electoral committee headed by the District Head of Kambuwa (Sardaunan Yauri) nominated by the Elders Committee under the leadership of Professor Mahdi Adamu Ngaski.
