The striker who was pre­sented with the award at the news­pa­per’s Con­fer­ence/Awards cer­e­mony in Abuja on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 7 was nom­i­nated by a top Nige­rian news­pa­per ac­cord­ing to re­ports.

It will be re­called that the Liver­pool for­ward is also the reign­ing BBC Women Foot­ball of the Year. And was named the Most Valu­able Player of the FIFA U-20 Women’s world cup fi­nals in Canada, where Nige­ria fin­ished run­ner-up.

The 22 year old su­per Fal­cons striker was an­nounced the win­ner of the in­au­gu­ral BBC award on Tues­day, May 26 but was pre­sented with her tro­phy the pre­vi­ous day.

Oshaola who is the African Foot­baller of the Year has been has been hav­ing a good year and will hope to con­tinue her im­pres­sive run.
