CITY NEWS FCTA ap­points Has­san, Wuyep deputy di­rec­tors

The Fed­eral Cap­i­tal Ter­ri­tory Ad­min­is­tra­tion (FCTA) has ap­proved the pro­mo­tion of Mr. Has­san Abubakar, a former As­sis­tant Di­rec­tor in charge of Com­mer­cial/Head Fi­nance and Mr Kum­sal Wuyep, a former As­sis­tant Di­rec­tor Traf­fic Mon­i­tor­ing and Con­trol to the rank of Deputy Di­rec­tors of the Direc­torate of Road Traf­fic Ser­vices (DRTS).

Ac­cord­ing to a direc­tive by the FCTA, the ap­point­ments take im­me­di­ate ef­fect.

The direc­torate’s Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer, KK Ilo­duba Jnr, said with their el­e­va­tion to the rank of Deputy Di­rec­tor, there are now three sub­stan­tive deputy di­rec­tors in the traf­fic en­force­ment agency in the na­tion’s cap­i­tal city. It is headed by a Di­rec­tor, DCM Dan­juma Aliyu Garba (rtd) Mni, a former Deputy Corps Mar­chall of the FRSC.

He said Mr Tunde Aregbesola and Mr Dele Yaro, were also pro­moted to As­sis­tant Di­rec­tors re­spec­tively, while the DRTS spokesper­son, Ilo­duba Jnr, was pro­moted to As­sis­tant Chief Sci­en­tific Of­fi­cer 1 but is still the head pub­lic re­la­tions and en­light­en­ment.

Mr Ilo­duba noted that about 581 of­fi­cers in the direc­torate were af­fected in the pro­mo­tion ex­er­cise which was car­ried out across board in ful­fill­ment of a pledge by the di­rec­tor shortly af­ter his ap­point­ment last year that he would make a case with the author­i­ties for the el­e­va­tion of staff whose pro­mo­tions were said to have un­duly stag­nated for years.
