4 imprisoned for possessing dangerous weapons
Four persons have been sentenced to two months’ imprisonment each by an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court for being in possession of dangerous weapons in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
Owe Samuel, 20, Aboh Echo, 20, Daniel Isador, 25, and Segun Akinyemi, 23, were convicted for joint act, attempt to commit offence to wit, inciting public disturbance, offences contrary to sections 79, 95 and 114 of the penal code.
The police prosecutor, DSP Egwu Anthony, told the court that the accused, with some others now at large, behaved violently in an attempt to disturb the peace of the public, especially residents of the vicinity at Byhazin by Millionaire quarters.
He said the accused were however arrested and some dangerous weapons recovered from them.
When the charges were read to the accused, they pleaded guilty, and the judge, Mohammed Marafa, sentenced him to two months’ imprisonment each with an option of N2,000 fine.
