Daily Trust - - CITY NEWS - By Abdullateef Salau

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Ishaku Shaban, has urged the residents of the council to be security conscious and report any criminal activities to the appropriate authorities.

Shaban, who described the bombing of the Kuje Market as a great challenge to the people of the community, said the bombing was unexpected and has caused untold hardship to the people of Kuje.

The council boss who spoke at the official commissioning of Al-Ansaar Orphanage Home, Passali, said residents must be vigilant and always willing to volunteer information to security agencies before insurgents can be defeated.

“Security is everybody’s business, not only the security operatives. So people should be on alert and report any strange movements or activities to the police,” he said.

Shaban thanked the Federal Government, FCTA, and FCT Police Command for responding quickly to the Kuje bombings.

He also said a taskforce has been set up by his administration to check the excesses of criminal activities in the neighbourhood.
