Senator Abdul’ Aziz Murtala Nyako (APC Adamawa Central) has decried the increasing rate of suicide bombers in the Northeastern region, saying it is reducing the population of the zone.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the senator lamented over the latest bombing at Jambutu in Yola, and that of Maiduguri in a mosque, last Friday, which led to the death of about 60 persons and injuring over 100 others.

According to him, the killings have become a recurring decimal that was gradually annihilating the children, youth and aged, thereby weakening the socioeconomic strength of the zone.

The statement added that the suicide attacks if not arrested would jeopardize the economic growth of the region in the nearest future.

“At the moment, the population Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) has risen to an undisclosed number and with the continuous killings, the children and youths from the North-East will be wiped out,”
