Saraki, Dog­ara task Ooni des­ig­nate on na­tional unity

Sen­ate Pres­i­dent, Bukola Saraki yes­ter­day urged the Ooni of Ife-des­ig­nate, Prince Adey­eye Eni­tan Ogun­wusi to con­cen­trate on fur­ther so­lid­i­fy­ing the role of the Yoruba peo­ple in na­tional unity.

Saraki in a state­ment by his Spe­cial Ad­viser (Me­dia and Pub­lic­ity), Yusuph Olaniy­onu, wished the Ooni-elect a long and peace­ful reign, sound health and many years of ser­vice to his peo­ple.

Ac­cord­ing to the Sen­ate Pres­i­dent, the Ooni-elect has so many things in com­mon with the im­me­di­ate past Ooni, which in­clude but not lim­ited to be­ing widely trav­elled, ex­posed, ver­sa­tile, well-in­formed and some­body de­voted to com­mu­nity ser­vice.

Be­sides, the Speaker of the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives Yakubu Dog­ara has con­grat­u­lated the new Ooni of Ife, on his as­cen­sion to the throne.ý

In a congratulatory state­ment signed by the speaker’s spokesman, Tu­raki Has­san, Dog­ara ýsaid the role of tra­di­tional rulers in na­tion­build­ing can­not be overem­pha­sised.

Sim­i­larly, Deputy Speaker Yus­suf Sulei­mon La­sun has con­grat­u­lated the en­tire peo­ple of Ife and Osun State over the emer­gence of a sea­soned pro­fes­sional with great ex­pe­ri­ence as the Ooni.

La­sun said in a state­ment by his Chief Press Sec­re­tary Wole Oladimeji that prayed that the new Ooni would use his ex­pe­ri­ence and knowl­edge to build on what the Late Oku­nade Si­juade did when he was alive.
