Po­lice burst Kano drug syn­di­cate

The Kano State Po­lice Com­mand yes­ter­day pa­raded sus­pected drug ped­dlers. Speak­ing to news­men dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the com­mand’s Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer, ASP Ma­gaji Musa Ma­jiya, said the ar­rest was made when they con­ducted a raid on a black spot along Sabon Gari area. He said items found in­clude 32 car­tons of drugs, 30 ny­lon bags of packed with var­i­ous drugs , 43 packs of Pen­ter­zocine, four pack­ets of Tramadol among oth­ers.

He added that in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed that the sus­pects; Obinna Nwosu, Ibe Ugoh and Vitrus Nwagu all in­di­genes of Imo State, were dis­trib­u­tors of the drugs. He said the com­mand also re­cov­ered an aban­doned tri­cy­cle loaded with 25 parcels of In­dian hemp, just as the drug sup­plier was ar­rested.

“The ar­rested sup­plier; De­man Ugechukwu from Ebonyi State came to Kano two years ago on the pre­text of farm­ing, but re­sorted to sup­ply of Mar­i­juana”, he said.
