Police burst Kano drug syndicate
The Kano State Police Command yesterday paraded suspected drug peddlers. Speaking to newsmen during the exercise, the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya, said the arrest was made when they conducted a raid on a black spot along Sabon Gari area. He said items found include 32 cartons of drugs, 30 nylon bags of packed with various drugs , 43 packs of Penterzocine, four packets of Tramadol among others.
He added that investigation revealed that the suspects; Obinna Nwosu, Ibe Ugoh and Vitrus Nwagu all indigenes of Imo State, were distributors of the drugs. He said the command also recovered an abandoned tricycle loaded with 25 parcels of Indian hemp, just as the drug supplier was arrested.
“The arrested supplier; Deman Ugechukwu from Ebonyi State came to Kano two years ago on the pretext of farming, but resorted to supply of Marijuana”, he said.
