ubwa po­lice pa­trol team has ar­rested one Jerome Eza for at­tempt­ing to steal a Honda Sports Util­ity Ve­hi­cle at a bank at phase 4, Kubwa. po­lice source told our reporter that Eza was seen around the bank last Fri­day mon­i­tor­ing cus­tomers of the bank.

City News gath­ered that the mo­ment Eza iden­ti­fied the car he wanted to steal, he started strug­gling to open the ve­hi­cle with five dif­fer­ent bunches of keys un­til Kubwa po­lice pa­trol team, who were in mufti saw him and ap­pre­hended him. “Ini­tially he claimed that the car be­longed to him but as he was talk­ing, the owner of the car came out from the bank.

“Eza then con­fessed to have been us­ing the bunch of keys to steal cars in the past and that the SUV at­tracted him be­cause he would have eas­ily sold it.

He also con­fessed to have stolen a Honda Civic car from an­other bank and that the car was in Makurdi, at a car dealer’s stand,” the source said.

When con­tacted, the Kubwa Di­vi­sional Po­lice Of­fi­cer, Chief Su­per­in­ten­dent Nu­rudeen Sabo, con­firmed the ar­rest, say­ing that Jerome Eza was ap­pre­hended while try­ing to steal a car where it was parked at a bank in Kubwa.

He said the stolen Honda Civic has been re­cov­ered and that the case has been trans­ferred to the FCT Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion Depart­ment.
