Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Femi Akinola, Lagos

Consular General at the German Embassy in Nigeria, Mr. Ingo Herbert, said his government has renewed its interest in the Nigerian economy, following the change of administration.

Herbert said this at the Lagos State House of Assembly, when he visited the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

The envoy, who was accompanied on the visit by his deputy, Santa Di Pasquale, said they had been touring the country in the past six weeks as a way of ensuring better relationship between Nigeria and Germany.

He said before the year ran out, Germany would be investing in Lagos State. He, however, did not give details on the investment.

Responding, the Speaker urged the envoy to ensure that German companies invest in Lagos State heavily.
