No tension in Abia - Gov

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Linus Effiong, Umuahia

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to Abia State governor, Mr Ugochukwu Emezue, said there was no political tension in the state as a result of judgments passed by election petition tribunals.

He said that the main opposition party, APGA was trying to create the impression that there was tension in the state.

“Abia State is a very peaceful state and will remain same, despite fruitless efforts by some opposition politicians to foment trouble,” he said.

He noted that tribunals have lived up to expectations in attending to various petitions and dispensing them dispassionately.

“Therefore, the claim by the APGA that the chairman and members of the tribunal in the state were compromised and induced monetarily to divert justice is uncalled for,” he said.
