Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Hassan Ibrahim, Jos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jos North and Bassa local government areas of Plateau State have faulted the composition of the standing committees in the House of Representative as announced by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.

In a statement issued in Jos and signed by their chairmen, YaKubu Hassan and Alhassan Ayiki, the local chapters of the APC described Dogara’s sharing of the committees, almost on equal basis with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)as affront to the APC.

The statement specifically decried at the formula that selected five chairmen of committees from Plateau State, with APC getting one and PDP four,

“Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency have the largest voter population in the state which was won by the APC. Five chairmanship slots were given to Plateau, four chairmen and one vice chairman. To our greatest surprise, PDP got four while APC got one,” the statement said.
