Group, Com­mis­sion hold sports sum­mit in Abuja, De­cem­ber

Text by Si­mon E. Sun­day @Si­monEchewo­fun pri­vate sport pro­mot­ing group has said it will host a ‘ Na­tional Sports Sum­mit’ in Abuja by De­cem­ber to ex­plore and re­po­si­tion sports in Nige­ria.

In a lo­cal news agency re­port, the Spring Vi­sion Kon­cept Lim­ited last Tues­day said it is hold­ing the event from De­cem­ber 7 to 11 in part­ner­ship with the Na­tional

AS­ports Com­mis­sion (NSC).

The sum­mit co­or­di­na­tor, Martins Bisong said the theme, ‘The Nige­rian Sports Econ­omy and Pro­mo­tions: The Pub­lic-Pri­vate Part­ner­ship Per­spec­tive’ is meant to ex­plore sports and new tal­ents.

“The sum­mit is be­ing or­gan­ised un­der a pub­licpri­vate part­ner­ship syn­ergy, with the sole ob­jec­tive of us­ing it as a win­dow to ex­plore and re­po­si­tion sports in the coun­try,” Bisong said.

He ex­plained that

the sum­mit will at­tract key play­ers through a plat­form where they would build a con­sol­i­dated syn­ergy to ex­change ideas, in­vest and sup­port Nige­rian sports trans­for­ma­tion and de­vel­op­ment.

“Pres­i­dent of the Nige­ria Olympic Com­mit­tee (NOC), Habu Gumel, the pro­pri­etor of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, Glob­al­com boss, Mike Ade­nuga are among dig­ni­taries to grace the sum­mit, pre­sent­ing pa­pers on sports fi­nanc­ing and de­vel­op­ment.
