Katsina NDE trains 30 youths on so­lar en­ergy ven­tures

The Na­tional Direc­torate of Em­ploy­ment (NDE), in Katsina State has com­menced the train­ing of 30 youths on so­lar en­ergy panel in­stal­la­tion.

It trained 20 youths in the first batch of the pro­gramme whom the agency said have be­gun their pri­vate prac­tices.

Speak­ing at the open­ing cer­e­mony in Katsina this week, the state Co­or­di­na­tor, Al­haji Aliyu Umar Yar’adua said the agency has signed pacts with some banks to pro­vide more funds for the es­tab­lish­ment of busi­ness ven­tures for the trained youths.

The scheme he said evolved to re­duce un­em­ploy­ment and make trainees em­ploy­ers of labour adding that NDE is com­mit­ted to­wards re­duc­ing the un­em­ploy­ment level across the state.

“This train­ing is to equip the par­tic­i­pants with the ba­sic knowl­edge on so­lar power as al­ter­na­tive source of en­ergy gen­er­a­tion,” he said

He called on the ben­e­fi­cia­ries to be stead­fast while learn­ing the rudi­ments of so­lar en­ergy in­stal­la­tion say­ing the agency will sup­port them to be more pro­duc­tive in the so­ci­ety.
