Katsina NDE trains 30 youths on solar energy ventures

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Katsina State has commenced the training of 30 youths on solar energy panel installation.
It trained 20 youths in the first batch of the programme whom the agency said have begun their private practices.
Speaking at the opening ceremony in Katsina this week, the state Coordinator, Alhaji Aliyu Umar Yar’adua said the agency has signed pacts with some banks to provide more funds for the establishment of business ventures for the trained youths.
The scheme he said evolved to reduce unemployment and make trainees employers of labour adding that NDE is committed towards reducing the unemployment level across the state.
“This training is to equip the participants with the basic knowledge on solar power as alternative source of energy generation,” he said
He called on the beneficiaries to be steadfast while learning the rudiments of solar energy installation saying the agency will support them to be more productive in the society.
