The All Progressives Congress (APC) woman leader in the FCT, Mrs. Hailmary Aipoh, has raised alarm over extortion from women members of the party by some unidentified persons in the territory.

Addressing newsmen at the state secretariat of the party yesterday in Abuja, Aipoh alleged that an unidentified group of women had been using her name to extort N2,000 from unsuspecting female members of the party.

She said the group collected the money under the pretense that it would offer loans to the women, adding there was no time she gave such a directive and warned those behind the act to desist.

“I just called on your attention that there was a fraud going on by some group of yet to be identified elements that are going around collecting N2,000 as form fee.

“I want to make it categorically clear that I have not directed anybody to collect any money and I am not aware of any loan. Those doing so should desist before the law catches up with them,” she warned.
