Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Usman A. Bello, Benin

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) has adopted the candidate of the Sen. Ahmed Makarfiled PDP, Pastor Osagie IzeIyamu, for the September 10 governorship election in the state.

Speaking to journalists at the weekend, the state chairman of the PDM, Nosa Omorodion, said the decision was taken after carefully assessing candidates of the two major political parties in the state, the APC and the PDP.

He assured that the PDM would make its resources available for the actualisation of the gubernatorial ambition of Pastor Ize-Iyamu.

He added they approach other would smaller political parties in the state to give their support to Pastor Ize-Iyamu, as there was no need for them to present governorship candidates that could not go anywhere.

Responding, Pastor IzeIyamu promised to integrate the PDM members into his campaign committee, assuring that he would not disappoint them when voted into office.
