PDP unlikely to bounce back - Shuluwa

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Hope Abah, Makurdi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not bounce back to power in 2019 until the warring factions embrace peace, a chieftain of the party in Benue State, Chief Abu King Shuluwa, has said.

Shuluwa said deliberate effort must be made to settle the crisis currently bedeviling the party at the national level, occasioned by power tussle between the Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff and Sen. Ahmed Makarfi factions, so that members can team up in unity to achieve success in the future.

He said: “There is no way PDP will bounce back to power if they (Sheriff and Makarfi) did not come back together and conduct congresses to move forward; they can’t get power.”

Shuluwa also noted that there was disaffection as a result of the congresses earlier conducted in all the states across the country, hence the need to treat the matter with urgency instead of throwing tantrums.

The PDP chieftain urged stakeholders of the party to shelve their differences in the interest of the larger house.
