Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State has urged Muslims to continue to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan, saying the month-long fasting which just ended should be a compass for good conduct allyear long.

“One of the lessons we have learnt from Ramadan fasting is to continue to demonstrate understanding and tolerance towards our neighbours and show compassion to those in need…We should use this for sober reflection and an assessment of our conduct and to ensure that our conduct conforms to the noble teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW )”, he said.

The governor, who spoke yesterday in an eid-el- fitr message to the people of the state, also called on the people to continue to work together ‘for the attainment of a more prosperous future for the state and the country in general’. Speaking about the security situation in the state, Governor Gaidam expressed appreciation to the Buhari-led federal government for the significant improvement in the security situation in the state.
