Counsel’s absence stalls Dasuki’s trial
The trial of a former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki and others over alleged laundering of N13.5bn could not hold yesterday as the counsel to the second defendant was absent.
Dasuki and four others are facing a 19-count charge before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) sitting in Maitama.
The others are a former Director of Finance and Administration, Office of the National Security Adviser, Shuaibu Salisu; former General Manager, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Babakusa and two firms: Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited. The presiding judge, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, initially stood the case down for a few minutes but later adjourned it to July 11, 2016.
