Ethnocentrism, intolerance dangerous to democracy – Buhari

Daily Trust - - ONLINE REACTIONS -

This stigmatization of Buhari is very unfortunate. Before the elections, his opponents painted him a religious fanatic. And the people know that his war on anticorruption knows no religious, ethnic or class colouration. Then come a rehash of the prominent positions held by Muslims in Nigeria. It is mischievous to cast aspersion of bias on Buhari. It amounts to the typical Nigerian game of chasing needless shadows rather than focusing on the arduous task of nationbuilding.

This APC government that has brought us so much division and disunity are the people now warning us. Bola Tinubu’s efforts to manipulate and control the Senate will pull down this divisive government.

Sectional appointments by a sitting president are also ethnocentrism and threaten national security. Nebulous government like Buhari’s own is calamity to any nation.
