S/West Muslims felicitate with Nigerians

Daily Trust - - NEWS - By Abbas Jimoh

The Muslim Ummah of the South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) and the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) have congratulated Muslims in the South West region in particular and the entire country in general on the Eid-el-fitr celebration.

In separate statements yesterday, MUSWEN spokesman, Alhaji Femi Abbas and MMPN Abuja chapter chairman, Alhaji AbdurRahman Balogun, Muslims were urged to sustain the piety exhibited while observing the Ramadan fast.

“While celebrating the festivities of Eidul-Fitr, we should remember the social and spiritual gains of the sacred month and fulfill our covenant with Allah in such a way that those gains will not be taken away from us by Satan. We should remember to pay our mandatory Zakatul-Fitr and be kind to the less privileged ones in our celebrations. Such celebrations should exemplify the remorse and humility we imbibed in the sacred month of Ramadan.

Balogun on his part urged Nigerians to increase their efforts at collectively resolving the challenges facing the country and ensure its rapid development in the interest of the citizens.
