The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on the Niger Delta Avengers and all militant groups to embrace the offer of dialogue by the Federal Government.

The forum in a Sallah message signed by its national publicity secretary, Muhammad Ibrahim, said in the spirit of Eid-el-Fitr celebration the Niger Delta Avengers should cease its destructive activities.ý

“Destroying oil pipelines and polluting the environment is not a solution to whatever perceived grievances,” the forum stated.

Taking a similar view, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, Rep Linus Okorie, pleaded with the Niger Delta Avengers, the Boko Haram sect and other insurgent groups to use the peace message of the Eid el-fitr to cease fire and return the country to a state of calm.

Okorie, in his Eid el-fitr message, said Nigeria had been tormented for years by different militia groups, and urged the hostile groups to submit to dialogue.
