Lawmaker empowers constituents
The lawmaker representing Edo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, has distributed empowerment items to youths and women of his district.
Distributing the items in Benin yesterday, Senator Urhoghide said apart from the empowerment items, scholarship would be given to the children of the poorest of the poor who would be selected by a committee.
He said cash donation would also be made to market women to support their businesses.
“During my electioneering campaigns, I promised that I would pursue proper representation. In the one year journey so far, I can say that I have kept faith with Edo South people and my promises,” he said.
Items distributed during the empowerment programme were sewing machines, grinding machines, wheelchairs, generators and freezers.
