Why we have CSR in autism – GT Bank

The Guar­an­tee Trust Bank Plc has ex­plained that the fo­cus of its cor­po­rate so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity ges­ture on autism is geared to­wards im­prov­ing com­pre­hen­sive com­mu­nity health plan for or­di­nary Nige­ri­ans.

In a state­ment made avail­able to Daily Trust in Lagos, the bank also said its ges­ture is be­ing dic­tated by the need to “as­sess health­care ser­vice ca­pac­ity, iden­tify and im­ple­ment strate­gies to im­prove ac­cess to health­care and ed­u­ca­tion” on autism.

The GT Bank’s Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Mr Se­gun Ag­baje who spoke at the an­nual 2016 Autism Con­fer­ence was quoted as say­ing: “we be­lieve that chil­dren, ir­re­spec­tive of de­vel­op­men­tal dis­or­ders can rise to the

high­est lev­els in the pur­suit of their dreams when given a chance to cul­ti­vate their in­nate skills and max­i­mize their po­ten­tials.”
