Law School DG, 21 lawyers conferred with SAN
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) on Monday in Abuja conferred the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Mr. Olanrewaju Adesola Onadeko and 21 other legal practitioners.
Mr. Ahmed Gambo Saleh, the LPPC Secretary and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, announced this to newsmen at the Supreme Court.
Saleh said the committee found the awardees worthy of the title at the end of its general meeting in Abuja on Monday.
According to him, out of 131 legal practitioners that applied, 22 were shortlisted before the final confirmation.
He said three academics made the final list while two female lawyers got the award this year.
The chief registrar said this year’s award process was very rigorous, adding that the provisions of the LPPC were strictly adhered to in the selection process.
He said the awardees would be inaugurated at the beginning of the new legal year in September.
The new Senior Advocates are: Mr. Olanrewaju Adesola Onadeko (academic), Nnamonso Udo Ekanem, Prof. Muhammed Tabiu (academic), Dr. Valerie-Janette Ogonna Azinge, Olufunke Abimbola Agbor, Olusola Oladimeji Ojutalayo, Richard Ayodele Akintunde, Oyesoji Gbolahan Oyeleke, James Onyeanwuna Njeze Ikeyi, Elisha Yakubu Kurah, Adewunmi Adedeji Ogunsanya, Olatubosun Ola Olanipekun, Chief Kalu Ikwuonwu Umeh, Adewale Sunday Adesokan, Andrew Chukwuemeka Igboekwe, Fredson Chijioke Alexander Okoli, Olaseni Abiodun Adio, Olaseni Ibiwoye, Abdulhakeem Uthman Mustapha, Mba Ekpezu Ukweni, Edward Gyang Pwajok and Prof. Chukwu Amari Omaka (academic).
