Law School DG, 21 lawyers con­ferred with SAN

The Le­gal Prac­ti­tion­ers’ Priv­i­leges Com­mit­tee (LPPC) on Mon­day in Abuja con­ferred the Se­nior Ad­vo­cate of Nige­ria (SAN) on the Di­rec­tor-Gen­eral of the Nige­rian Law School, Mr. Olan­re­waju Ades­ola Onadeko and 21 other le­gal prac­ti­tion­ers.

Mr. Ahmed Gambo Saleh, the LPPC Sec­re­tary and Chief Reg­is­trar of the Supreme Court, an­nounced this to news­men at the Supreme Court.

Saleh said the com­mit­tee found the awardees wor­thy of the ti­tle at the end of its gen­eral meet­ing in Abuja on Mon­day.

Ac­cord­ing to him, out of 131 le­gal prac­ti­tion­ers that ap­plied, 22 were shortlisted be­fore the fi­nal con­fir­ma­tion.

He said three aca­demics made the fi­nal list while two fe­male lawyers got the award this year.

The chief reg­is­trar said this year’s award process was very rig­or­ous, adding that the pro­vi­sions of the LPPC were strictly ad­hered to in the se­lec­tion process.

He said the awardees would be in­au­gu­rated at the be­gin­ning of the new le­gal year in Septem­ber.

The new Se­nior Ad­vo­cates are: Mr. Olan­re­waju Ades­ola Onadeko (aca­demic), Nna­monso Udo Ekanem, Prof. Muhammed Tabiu (aca­demic), Dr. Valerie-Janette Ogonna Azinge, Olu­funke Abim­bola Ag­bor, Olu­sola Oladimeji Oju­ta­layo, Richard Ay­o­dele Ak­in­tunde, Oye­soji Gbo­la­han Oyeleke, James Onyean­wuna Njeze Ikeyi, Elisha Yakubu Ku­rah, Adewunmi Ad­edeji Ogun­sanya, Olatu­bo­sun Ola Ola­nipekun, Chief Kalu Ik­wuonwu Umeh, Ade­wale Sun­day Ades­okan, An­drew Chuk­wue­meka Ig­boekwe, Fred­son Chi­jioke Alexan­der Okoli, Olaseni Abio­dun Adio, Olaseni Ibi­woye, Ab­dul­ha­keem Uth­man Mustapha, Mba Ekpezu Uk­weni, Ed­ward Gyang Pwa­jok and Prof. Chukwu Amari Omaka (aca­demic).
