…Group vows to oc­cupy EFCC over ‘stolen funds’

A group, Benue State Youth Move­ment for Good Gov­er­nance (BYMGG), has threat­ened to oc­cupy the head­quar­ters of the Eco­nomic and Fi­nan­cial Crimes Com­mis­sion (EFCC), to­day, over al­leged steal­ing of N107bn by the im­me­di­ate past ad­min­is­tra­tion of the state.

The group had ear­lier is­sued a 72hour ul­ti­ma­tum to the anti-graft agency to pros­e­cute 52 peo­ple, in­clud­ing a for­mer gov­er­nor of the state, Gabriel Suswam, who were re­port­edly in­dicted by the Jus­tice El­iz­a­beth Kpo­jimeled com­mis­sion for al­legedly mis­ap­pro­pri­at­ing money be­long­ing to the state.

The Na­tional Pres­i­dent of BYMGG, Com­rade Ter­rence Kwuanum, speak­ing in Makurdi, yes­ter­day, said that the body would mo­bilise peo­ple to oc­cupy the EFCC af­ter the ex­pi­ra­tion of the ul­ti­ma­tum given to it to com­mence pros­e­cu­tion of the in­dicted per­sons.
