Niger PDP cautions new IG on partisanship

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - From Abubakar Haruna, Minna

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State has counseled the new acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, on the need to discharge his duties without fear or favour.

The PDP also advised Idris to closely monitor his men and officers in the 36 states of the federation and Abuja, so that they would not bring the good name the police force to disrepute.

Niger State chairman of the party, Mr Tanko Beji, who stated this in a Sallah message to the people of the state, also congratulated Idris on his appointment as the new Inspector General of Police.

“We use the period of this religious festival to charge the new Acting Inspector General of Police to be fair to all Nigerians in the performance of his duties so that at the end of the day, his name will be written in gold in the history books of the Nigeria Police force,” he said.
