The suspect, Elochukwu Ikechukwu, was said to have been arrested last Friday at the burial of his father.

Police sources said the suspect conspired with his accomplices still at large and lured the deceased, of Agbaja village Abatete, to Atani where they dispossessed him of his Toyota Camry car with registration number FST 962 DL valued at N950,000.

The sources added that the deceased was later beaten to death by the suspects and dumped inside a bush at Atani.

According to the sources, the decomposing body was discovered four days later before the suspect, who had been on the run, was eventually arrested.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ali Okechukwu, confirmed the arrest.
