AU greets Mus­lims, urges sup­port for war vic­tims

The Chair­per­son of the African Union Com­mis­sion (AUC), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has greeted Mus­lims in Africa and around the world as they cel­e­brate Eid el-Fitr fol­low­ing the suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of Ra­madan.

Dlamini Zuma, in a state­ment yes­ter­day, re­minded Mus­lims that the Ra­madan pro­vided an op­por­tu­nity for them to con­tinue in their ef­forts and com­mit­ment to help the less for­tu­nate through char­ity, par­tic­u­larly those strug­gling as a re­sult of war, famine and eco­nomic hard­ship.

She urged Mus­lims to con­tinue with the shared re­spon­si­bil­ity of sup­port­ing one an­other in ef­forts to cre­ate a peace­ful, pros­per­ous and just Africa and world.

“I wish all Mus­lim brothers and sis­ters a blessed day filled with peace, love, happiness and pros­per­ity,” she said.
