Muslims in Plateau State yesterday offered special prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Bako Lalong with an appeal to all Muslims to uphold the lessons of Ramadan.

The Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque, Sheik Lawal Adam, who led the special prayer shortly after the Eid-el- Fitri sermon, prayed Almighty Allah to bestow wisdom and sound health on President Buhari and Governor Lalong to lead the country and state to greater heights, adding, “Prayer is the only way out of our country’s current situation in the country.”

The Chief Imam stressed that Muslims must at all times demonstrate fear of God and avoid unnecessary disagreements capable of disuniting them in order to have peace and development in the society.

“Muslim parents must prioritise the education of their children and impact moral principle in them. We must also imbibe the spirit of neighbourliness irrespective of religious or ethnic background,” he said.

The state Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmad Nazif, who represented Governor Lalong, called on Muslim youths to respect constituted authorities and elders in their various communities.
