Ambode promises better deal for investors

Daily Trust - - BUSINESS - From Mohammed Shosanya, Lagos

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has promised that his administration will create an enabling environment for investments to thrive.

He said that his administration was making conscious efforts to promote ease of doing business in Lagos through de-emphasising policies considered inimical to growth of business in the state.

Ambode, who spoke at the launch of Maryland Mall in Lagos, said that the decision to create an enabling environment was due to his administration’s commitment to partner the private sector to grow the economy of the state and create job opportunities.

He said that the decision of the owners of the mall to build structures in Maryland and other areas was a bold statement that the state was an investors’ destination of choice

The Chief Executive Officer, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Company, Atedo Peterside, said that the discipline, focus and resilience of indigenous financial industry firms like Purple Capital were worthy of emulation.

“This successful delivery of the Maryland Mall project showcases the fact that domestic investment, fuelled by the indefatigable spirit of Nigerian entrepreneurs, is key to driving social harmony and national economic growth,” he said.
