The Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr Musa Dikko, has urged Muslims to pray for peace and prosperity of the country as they celebrate this year’s Sallah.

In his Sallah message, the chairman said that the country was going through hard times and needed fervent prayers.

“Times are hard now and it is becoming increasingly difficult for governments, at all levels, to execute the social contracts they entered into with the masses. At a time like this, when Muslim ummah are celebrating Eid elFitr, we need prayers for peace and prosperity.”

He said that when the country prospered, standards of living would improve, governments would pay salaries promptly and execute infrastructural projects.

He appealed to the people of Bwari to be patient with his administration while he tried to improve revenue of the council.

He also urged residents in the area to be law abiding during the the Sallah celebrations.
