PDC, NNPP, PPA get gov’ship can­di­dates in Edo

The Peo­ple for Demo­cratic Change (PDC), New Nige­ria Peo­ples Party (NNPP) and the Pro­gres­sive Peo­ple Al­liance (PPA) have picked their can­di­dates for the Septem­ber 10 gov­er­nor­ship elec­tion in Edo State.

Bishop Akha­la­mhe, who emerged as the sole as­pi­rant of the PDC was unan­i­mously elected.

The act­ing state chair­man of the party, Mr. Erhun­mwunse Joseph, said the elec­tion of Akha­la­mhe through voice vote was in line with the di­rec­tive of the na­tional lead­er­ship of the party.

Also, Prince Frank Ukonga, who emerged as the can­di­date of the NNPP has promised to im­prove the re­la­tion­ship be­tween the gov­ern­ment and civil ser­vants in the state if elected.

On his part, Thomas Sado, who emerged as the can­di­date of the PPA said his devel­op­ment plan for the state is pred­i­cated on a sev­en­point agenda.
