Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - By Saawua Terzungwe

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr to pray for peace and unity of the nation and eschew actions that will divide country.

In a Sallah message yesterday, issued by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the spokesman of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee, the party advised Nigerians to eschew all forms of bitterness and use the period for self-reflection.

“As a party, we wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters happy Eid-el Fitr and urge them to use this period to reflect on the virtue of faith, service and total submission to the will of the Almighty God as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad,” he said.

The party also urged Nigerians to pray for the political leaders to be divinely guided in piloting the affairs of the nation, especially at “these trying times.”

The party also called on Nigerians to support the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government in order for him to successfully deliver dividends of democracy to them.
